| Azerbijan was the host of IESF's very successful 6th World Championships in 2014. |
The
final stage of the XII Azerbaijan National Championship on Cyber
Games organized by Azerbaijan Cybersport Federation with support of
the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan was
held on May 26-28, 2018, in Baku. It should be noted that the
Organizing Committee also held qualifying matches for the X World
Championship (10th e-Sports World Championship Kaohsiung 2018) within
the XII National Championship. The winners of the National
Championship will represent Azerbaijan at the World Championship in
such disciplines as Tekken 7 (1x1), Counter Strike: Global Offensive
(5x5) and League of Legends (5x5).
The
preliminaries of the XII Azerbaijan National Championship on Cyber
Games in the country finished on 28 May. The first stage of the
National Preliminaries covered 65 regions, the winners of which were
granted to the next stage - zonal and it took place in such cities as
Goygol, Mingechevir, Oghuz, Ujar, Gusar, Astara, Sumgayit and Baku,
where, in turn, the quotas for the National Final (in the capital of
Azerbaijan - Baku) were played out. In total, more than 2000 computer
games enthusiasts participated in the qualifying tournaments.
The
intense struggle for the first three places in the final was observed
with great excitement in live streaming through the website of the
Azerbaijan Cybersport Federation.
