Twenty-six clubs participated in MSSA's 2017 On-line Provincial Championships held on 22 April 2017, and offered local players the opportunity to once again qualify for the National Team Trials (NTT) no matter where they live.

In 2017 MSSA selected official teams for CounterStrike GO, League of Legends, and Hearthstone which  participated in IeSF's 8th World Championships - Jakarta.

Players so selected earned full Protea Colours for the respective games and represented the country with pride.

The 2017 On-line Provincial Championships was the second last opportunity for gamers to qualify for the National Team Trials LAN that shall be held on 3 & 4 June 2017
