Checkers: All the qualifiers for National Team Trials.

Chanel De Wet(JCS Academy) racking up title after title.
The history of the game of Checkers, in South Africa, can be traced back to the 1890's.

However, it was not until 1994 that Checkers was run as a competitive, and accredited, sport.

Since 1994, a  number of players  have earned Regional, Provincial, National Federation, and Protea Colours.

And so it is that MSSA wil once  again be holding its National Team Trials for the ancient game of Checkers.

Even though there were a number of players that qualified at multiple events, the game of Checkers has seen a huge upsurge in the number of qualifiers of the past few years.

Chanel De Wet , currently ranked 6th in the world in the female division, is just one such player.
Chanel qualified in no fewer that four events, making her the first female to do so in the history of the MSSA. Having racked up a number  of provincial titles, there is no doubt that Chanel is looking for more and greater achievements.
