Russian athletes to not be admitted to the European Championships

The European Esports Federation (EEF) in support of Ukraine and condemning Russia's military aggression has stated that Russian athletes are not allowed to participate in the European Championships.

On May 4, the EEF issued an official statement from the Federation Board expressing solidarity and support for Ukraine, as well as the exclusion of Russian athletes from competing in the European Championships.

The decision was made in the light of the war of aggression that Russia launched on February 24, 2022, in which tens of thousands of Ukrainians were tortured and killed by alleged Russian war criminals, and in which millions of families have lost their homes. Thus it seems that EEF stands firmly with Ukraine in denouncing the aggressive stance taken by the seemingly imperialistic intentions as exhibited by Russia.

Ukrainian Esforts Federation (UESF) has expressed their sincere gratitude to the European Esports Federations for the stance taken in support of Ukraine.

UESF has also expressed their hope that International Esports Federation (IESF) will follow the example of EEF and reconsider its soft stance on sanctions against the Russian Esports Federation (RESF) and Russian athletes.
