Online Championships to be held on 4 May 2024.

South African teams have generally been the largest teams from Africa, and since 2009, South Africa is one of the few countries that have participated in every IESF World Championship.

MSSA's Online Championships to be held on 4 May 2024 represent the second last chance that Registered Players have to qualify for the National Team Trials (NTT) at which MSSA shall select the Protea Esports Team that shall participate in the IESF 16th World Esports Championships.

Colin Webster, MSSA President, and IESF past President, stated, "I am truly excited about the prospects for 2024 as never before have we had Registered Players who are so competent, enthused and willing to represent South Africa with pride".

It is therefore not surprising that MSSA has thus entered all IESF esports titles on offer at IESF's 16th World Championships - especially the female events.

The esports titles offered by IESF, and entered by MSSA are:

  • Counter-Strike 2 (open)
  • Counter-Strike 2 (female)
  • DOTA 2 (open)
  • eFootball (Open)
  • Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (open)
  • Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (female)
  • PUBG mobile (open)

In order to participate, players must be registered for the 2023/2024 season.

The championship shall be held on 4 May 2024
