Have your say... Choose your esports titles!

Make sure that your club proposes the titles you play.

On 7 December 2024, Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) shall hold its 41st National Convention which is its Annual General Meeting (AGM).

It is at this AGM where the member clubs decide on:

  • The leadership,
  • The titles played in the next year,
  • The Calendar of events for 2025, and
  • Any other motion that a fully-paid-up member club has submitted to the Board.
All nominations for positions, recommendations of titles, motions and other matters to be tabled on the agenda must reach the Board (at mindsportscorrespondence@gmail.com) on 1 November 2024.

When the AGM selects titles to be played it does so according to the following laid out procedure:

  1. Preference is given to those titles played at International Events as falling under the jurisdiction of the relevant international body, albeit International Esports Federation (IESF) or Global Esports Federation (GEF).
  2. Next preference is given to those esports titles as hosted by member clubs at an official Derby, or at official Regional Championships.
  3. After selecting the titles as per point 1 and 2 above, then the General Meeting will consider all other titles based on their popularity within the member clubs. It is important that when member clubs propose a title, a strong case is submitted so that all delegates can properly form their opinions.
Each title is voted on, and should the majority of the General Meeting agree to the inclusion of such title, the title will be included in all championships for which it has been proposed.

The different championships are:

  • Premier: Including SA Nationals and Provincial Championships, and
  • Student: Championships which only students registered at a tertiary institution may enter, and
  • Schools: Championships which only learners  may enter - even if home schooled.
