Kayhla Rose Calder was awarded Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the match that South Africa Played against Morocco. |
The day started well with South Africa's Protea Female Counter Strike Esports Team taking the battlefield against home team - Morocco. From the beginning, Morocco was outclassed as the South African team under the astute leadership of Jessica Eleez Greeff thwarted their every move. South Africa convincingly beat the Moroccans 13-5 (on the Anubis map) and then 13-2 (on the Inferno map).
Today, South Africa's Protea Female Counter Strike Esports Team will take on the winner between Egypt and Tunisia at 14H00.
It was then up to the open team. South Africa's Open Counter Strike Esports Team first faced off against Mauritius. South Africa under the leadership of Shannon Corran demolished their opponents 13 - 5 in both games on the Anubis and mirage maps respectively. The brave and intrepid South Africans then moved on to face Tunis. Tunis is a much respected team who had solidly defeated Morocco in their first game. The game was halted due to technical issues with South Africa leading 12 - 8 in their game against the Tunisian giants.
South Africa's game against Tunisia will continue today.
Next was the the turn of the Protea MLBB Esports Team...
The Protea MLBB Esports Team faced off against Djibouti.
In mobile gaming, no team can ever be discounted. Even teams from small countries can challenge the goliaths of gaming. In mobile gaming there are no sacred cows. Thus the South African team warily went onto the battlefield. Nevertheless the South African team performed as a well formed unit and defeated the team from Djibouti 2 - 0.
Thus, excitement is high among the South African team and supporters as the South African Protea Team goes into day 2 of play at IESF's AEC24.
