Durban born Luay Khan in deep concentration... |
One thing about international competition, it is not easy, and it has the power to break or make the athlete.
The 2025 BRICS Esports Championships, as hosted by the Russian Esports Federation (ReSF) in the Yota Esports Arena, in Moscow from 31 May 2025 to 1 June 2025 proved to be the most demanding event, with the highest standard of play in the world.
All the top players, who had qualified to be there, were there. The competition was fierce, and no quarter was given.
The 2025 BRICS Esports Championships saw Luay make his debut on the international stage. Despite facing formidable international opponents, Khan remained resolute and determined to perform at his best, with unwavering support from MSSA's other team members.
Even in defeat, Luay demonstrated great skill and was only narrowly beaten and always lost with good grace. In victory, against Egypt, Uganda, Vietnam, and Uzbekistan, Luay was magnanimous in victory. Luay soon became a popular athlete among his peers.
Overall, Luay finished in fifth place in his group.
Luay Khan was heard to say, "The BRICS tournament was amazing, and was good experience for me in competing against international players." Luay then went on to say, "I gained a lot of new information about gameplay and learnt new things from each player which was an amazing experience for me but I will come back stronger in the next BRICS tournament and hopefully get a better placement."
It is clear that the 2025 BRICS championship has revealed Luay's true character as a top esports athlete!
