In 2024 Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) saw no less than eighty-six athletes earn Senior Provincial Colours.
Only Free State and Northern Cape did not have any recipients, and of the eighty-six athletes who have received Protea Colours no less than twenty-six recipients are female.
This is the largest amount of female recipients of the award in MSSA's history.
Not only have the female esports athletes shown remarkable standards locally, but even on the international scene, South African female esports athletes have shone brighter than ever.
With IESF showing a strong commitment to female gaming, a policy started by IESF while MSSA President (Colin Webster) was on IESF's Board, female esports athletes are encouraged to register for official events in order to qualify for selection for the 2025 National Team Selection.
