National Sports Authority recognises GESF as sole E-Sports governing body in Ghana

Under GeSF President, Igor Boumekpo, GeSF now has official; accreditation.

The National Sports Authority has officially recognized the eSports Federation, Ghana as a governing body for E-Sports in Ghana.

Following thorough evaluation and compliance with registration criteria, the Federation has been granted authority over electronic gaming sports within the country by the NSA.

In a meeting held in February between the federation's President, Igor Boumekpo, and NSA officials, discussions centered on the federation's role in autonomously regulating and overseeing all esports-related activities in Ghana. The recent approval solidifies this arrangement.

This decision by the NSA is poised to significantly impact the esports community in Ghana and, by extension, the broader gaming community across Africa.

Over the years, eSports Federation, Ghana has spearheaded various gaming competitions and events in Ghana and the African continent. Notable among these are the Warm Up ESports Festival in collaboration with 3Sports and the annual Orange eSports events since 2018.

This year, the federation organized the NFL Fan Zone event in  Accra, coinciding with the NFL Africa Touchdown, which saw the participation of dignitaries such as the Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) awards its Management Board Awards to derserving individuals who have given their best to the growth and development of mind sports in South Africa.

Thus the individuals who have received the award in the past read as a veritable 'Who's Who".

The closing date for 2018's nominations was 15 October 2018, and nominations were received from a number of member clubs that wish to see affiliated players and sponsors rewarded for their contribution over the past year.

MSSA's Management Board Awards were started in 2009.

Even though some of the individuals honoured in the past have moved on to further their prospects in business, Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) shall always fondly remember the winners and the incredible contribution that they made to the various mind sports in South Africa..

Some have become even more involved.

Now that the nominations are in, MSSA's Management Board shall deliberate over such nominations in order to present such awards at MSSA's Annual General Meeting on 1 December 2018.

MSSA's Management Board Awards

Back in 2009, Mind Sport South Africa (MSSA) started its Management Board Awards.

The Awards were designed to recognise the contribution made by those who gave selflessly, and/or made an impact, to the promotion of the various types of gaming under the jurisdiction of MSSA.

The list is a veritable 'who's-who' in South African gaming.

Even though some of the 'names' have moved on to further their prospects in business, MSSA shall always fondly remember the winners and the incredible contribution that they made towards gaming.

Some, like Simphiwe Maphumulo , became even more involved.

Simphiwe moved from being one of MSSA's best gamers to and active role in the administration of MSSA as President of the MSSA.

However, the time has once again arrived for members to make their nominations for MSSA's Management Board Awards.
