Revised Starcraft II rankings

Devin Morris remains the top ranked player in South Africa

Excitement was high at MSSA's 1st Capricorn Regional Championships hosted by HTS Tom Naudé in Polokwane on 1 October 2017 when the first official StarCraft II championships was held in the Limpopo province.

The StarCraft II event was well attended, and the players demonstrated a high standard of play. The games played at such regional championships not only count towards earning Regional Colours, a berth in the 2018 National  Team Trials, but also a place in South Africa's official rankings.

The top three places at MSSA's 1st Capricorn Regional Championships for the esports game of StarCraft II are:

Thanks to Chris Conjé demonstrating the stuff of which champions are made, Chris was able to shoot up to 11th place in the official  rankings.

Nevertheless, Devin Morris retains his position as as the top ranked player in South Africa.

MSSA's CALENDAR FOR 2017

MSSA's AGM finalised the Calendar  of Events for 2017.

At such AGM, there was a little 'horse-trading', and it should be noted that the dates of the KwaZulu Natal Championships have changed. The change in dates for such championship is designed to further grow the KZN Championships.

The Calendar of Events takes into account all of the types of events as run by MSSA.

Of course all the Regional, Provincial, and National events count towards qualification towards National Team Trials (NTT). It is at such Trials that the official national teams shall be selected to represent South Africa in international events.

Any player who wishes to officially represent South Africa thus needs to be a member of an affiliated club and participate in MSSA events.
