Reminder: Limpopo Provincial Championships - 29 & 30 September 2018.

Fun and games at MSSA's 2017 Limpopo Championships - to be repeated again this year on 29 & 30 September 2018
In 2017 the Limpopo Provincial Championships was very ably hosted by HTS Tom Naudé .

This year (2018) will again see the Limpopo Provincial Championships hosted by HTS Tom Naudé .

By now,  all members and Registered Players should know that Provincial championships rotate among the clubs within such province. This allows every club, willing to host, the opportunity to cater for their members, and allows MSSA greater reach into areas in which major events have not yet been held.

MSSA's Limpopo Provincial Championships is part of the process of selecting the 2019 Protea teams that will attend various World Championships and participate in various test matches.

All Registered Players are reminded that MSSA's Limpopo Provincial Championships are an open championship. 

In other words any Registered Player is entitled to enter the championship – no matter where they live, or their category of membership.

Results: 6th Limpopo Provincial Championships

Yenex (HTS Tom Naudé) crushed all opponents to win MSSA's 6th Limpopo Championships in the League of Legends esports title.
Under the astute direction of Limpopo Provincial Director, Petrus Maartens,  HTS Tom Naudé, through the sekhmetic efforts of  Antonette Jordaan, delivered the best Limpopo Provincial Championships ever.

 Even though the event was not held at the best possible time for many learners, the championships had more titles played than ever before and  has allowed 24 Registered Players to qualify for MSSA's 2018 National Team Trials.

 MSSA's 6th Limpopo Championships were held on 28 and 29 October 2017 by HTS Tom Naudé in Polokwane.

Already all of the member clubs in Limpopo have submitted an alternative date for the 7th Limpopo Championships. The suggested date should make it championships more accessible to many of tthe provinces Registered Players, which will even further increase the popularity of the Limpopo Provincial Championships.

There is no doubt that there is something in the water in Limpopo. The competitiveness, sportsmanship and enthusiasm of the players  in Polokwane is  absolutely amazing.

The results reflect the high standard of play with the players from Limpopo shooting up the rankings to become a force with which to be reckoned in all of the board games and esports titles in which they played.

 I cannot wait to go back for the 2018 edition...

Current ladder results: League of Legends

Could Goon Squad end up as MSSA's Ladder Champions for 2017?
The highest listed team, at the end of the SA National Championships is given the title of SA LADDER Champion.

With MSSA's National Championships scheduled for 2 & 3 December 2017 to be hosted by Fakkel School in Sasolburg, there is not much time for teams to contest the position for the number one spot.

Clubs may challenge any club on the ladder. Any club so challenged has 5 days within which to respond and play the match. Such rule allows the ladder to retain its dynamic nature and stops the challenged club from delaying unnecessarily.

However, any team challenged during any official MSSA event while both teams are participating in such event, and are paired by the umpire to play against each other, must play such challenge. This means that any or all games at the 6th Limpopo Championships to be held at at HTS Tom Naudé, Polokwane, on 28 & 29 October 2017, may count as ladder games.

MSSA releases the latest FIFA '17 rankings

Odwa Mthethwa (Maritzburg College) winner of MSSA's 23rd KwaZulu Natal Provincial Championships.
Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) has just released its updated rankings for the esports title of 'FIFA '17'. The release of such rankings is just in time for the 6th Limpopo Championships to be held at at HTS Tom Naudé, Polokwane, on 28 & 29 October 2017.

 Khahliso Malape (Fakkel School) remains the top ranked player in the country, even though Hoya Gangi (Maritzburg College), Mpho Ntsala (Fakkel School), and Odwa Mthethwa (Naritzburg College) are right on his  heels for the number one spot.

Even though the esports title of FIFA is not currently played at IeSF's Esports World Championships, MSSA does arrange test matches against other National Federations.

It is against Namibia that Khalhiso Malape won his 'spurs' in June 2017 and first officially represented South Africa.

The rankings take all the results from all MSSA Championships to date.
