Mind Sports South Africa's Protea Esports Team for the Mobile Legends Bang Bang Esports Team will be departing South Africa on 30 November 2025 for IESF's World Esports Championships to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The event will be held at CLOUD Kuala Lumpur, 6th floor, Quill City Mall  in order to ensure a wonderful experience for all participants and attendees.

The team though, is looking forward to taking on the best that IESF have to offer, and have their sights firmly on achieving the best that they can, not for the substantial prize money, but for glory and honour.

Both the Protea Men's and Women's teams distinguished themselves in the qualifying rounds by beating every other national team that they came up against, but the did it with grace and the very highest levels of sportsmanship.

The prize money is as follows:

MLBB Prizes:    

  • 1st place - US$32,500.00
  • 2nd place - US$19,500.00
  • 3rd place - US$13,000.00

MLBB Women prizes:

  • 1st place - US$17,500.00
  • 2nd place - US$10,500.00
  • 3rd place - US$7,000.00

Johan van Breda, MSSA National Team Manager, was heard to state, "these two teams represent the finest MLBB teams that have to date ever qualified for an IESF World Esports Championships. I couldn't be prouder than to manage these two teams, and I am confident that these teams will perform to the best of their abilities".

We all stand together!

 

The 2025 MSSA Protea Esports Team for the MLBB Esports Title has all spoken with one voice.

The team will be departing from OR Tambo airport on 30 November 2025 to attend IESF's World Esports Championships (WEC25) to be held in Malaysia.

All the team, without exception, has agreed to show solidarity with all those demanding an end to Gender Based Violence (GBV) in South Africa.

As such, the team is to be issued with Protea Colours emblazoned onto purple kit to show, that even when abroad, the team supports the end of all GBV and intends to make all aware of the plight of women and children in South Africa.
