Leonard Loftus - MSSA's Free State Provincial Director

During his co-opted period as MSSA's Vice President for Development in 2016, Leonard aimed to grow Mind Sports in the Northern Free State as well as the Vaal Triangle and was successful in bringing Masters of Mind Sports, Fakkel School, Affies Sasolburg, and North West University (Vaal Triangle Campus) on board.

Many of the players from this area also achieved their Regional, High School Provincial and Provincial Colours in 2016.

Six players from this area also obtained their National Federation Colours at the SA Championships in December'2016. 

Leonard is no newcomer to sport.

With more than twenty years experience in the administration of sports like Freshwater Angling and Martial Arts - Karate, Leonard is used to the inner workings of sport. 

The new challenge will be to promote, develop and grow Inter-Provincial matches to improve and refine the skills of the gamers in each Province and SA in general. Leonard looks forward to assist MSSA in achieving this objective. 

MSSA's first ever female Provincial Director

Paula Loftus

Paula Loftus from Sasolburg has became Mind Sports South Africa’s first female Provincial Director representing the Free State Province. 

Not only is Paula the first female Provincial Director, but Paula becomes MSSA's first ever female Provincial Director.

Paula has a long experience in sport management structures. Having actively competed in Freshwater Angling and Marathon Running, Paula brings a wealth of administrative skill to MSSA.

Testament to Paula's competitive spirit is the  fact that she earned her Provincial Colours at the first Provincial Championships in which she competed.

She is looking forward to serve the MSSA as Provincial Director and to assist all the Clubs and Players from the Free State. Paula is a passionate and gifted game player and will be a tremendous asset to the Management of MSSA. — 

Mind Sports South Africa’s youngest eSports athlete

Tshedza Masheleni

On the 25^th of June’16, Tshedza Masheleni became the youngest eSports athlete when he participated in MSSA’s Free State ProvincialChampionships held in Sasolburg at Fakkel School. 

At a mere six years of age, Tshedza was a big inspiration to the rest of the participants and officials. 

Tshedza's excitement was contagious. 

Being a big fan of Street Fighter V, Tshedza came third in the Primary School division. He received his bronze medal with pride after defeating some of his opponents. 

Mind Sports South Africa pride itself by being all inclusive when it comes to development. Being able to add value to the building blocks of a person, putting a smile of pride on someone’s face, giving hope, creating purpose and making a difference in a person’s life irrespective of age, gender or race makes it all worth the while. 

It all comes down to make an individual feel like a person who can be part of a living structure. Through the investment of Mind Sports South Africa, Tshedza Masheleni may become one of South Africa’s brightest minds and biggest stars in the next decade or two.

1st Fezile Dabi Regional Championship - a success!

Winners - one and all!

Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) is dedicated to development.

Thus MSSA has a programme of hosting championships in as many of South Africa's regions as possible.

Clubs are encouraged to buy-into the programme by hosting the events and to profit from such events through earning entrance fees, obtaining press, and discovering new members.

The most recent of the Regional Championships was the 1st Fezile Dabi Regional Championship was hosted by Fakkel School, Sasolburg on 14 & 15 May 2016

Leonard Loftus of the club, Masters of eSport, excelled himself by running a top-class event.

The event had 61 contestants battle it out to see who would walk away with Regional  Colours and the eligibility to enter the National Team Trials.
