After defeating Madagascar, SA's Female Proteas to take on Mauritius and Ghana.


Neisha (Rose) Khan lead the female Protea Esports Team for MLBB to a stunning victory in the test match against Mauritius.

In preparation for IESF's WEC25 the South African Female Protea Team for the Mobile Legends Bang Bang Esports title will also take on Mauritius and Ghana.

Having played against Madagascar on Thursday, 1 May 2025 at 20H30, the South African Female Protea Team trounced Mauritius 2 - 0. As usual the team worked as a tight unit commanded by the very able Neisha (Rose) Khan. Neisha marshalled her team with the skill and confidence of an ancient general as the Protea team prepared for battle. The team responded in kind and gave the battle their all.

It is not, therefore surprising that Neisha earned the title of MVP in the game and comrade in arms, Rowell (Ketsuka) Pillay, earned the title of MVP in the second game of the test match.

Rose is no wilting bloom - the result of SA vs Mauritius.

Neisha (Rose) Khan demonstrated her sterling leadership capabilities as she lead the female Protea Esports Team for MLBB to a spectacular victory over Mauritius.

Like a lovely flower blooming sweetly at night, Neisha (Rose) Khan - Captain of the South African female Protea Team for the Mobile Legends Bang Bang  Esports Team, had an unmistakable presence at the IESF Test Match between South Africa and Mauritius on 29 March 2025.

Neisha marshalled her team with the skill and confidence of ancient warriors as the Protea team prepared for battle.

All were apprehensive about the Test Match as the Mauritian team is highly respected and feared by many. 

The Test Match saw Neisha's debut as captaining the Protea Team which had been totally overhauled from previous years and consisted of an entirely new team.

  • Rowell Pillay
  • Shanel Arunachellam
The Test Match consisted of two matches.

In the first match, the Protea Team struck early and struck hard and quickly put the Mauritians on the back foot. As much as the Mauritians tried, the Proteas (under Neisha's proficient leadership) kept up steady pressure which saw the Mauritian team crumble and accept defeat.

In the second match, it was clear from the Mauritian draft, that the Mauritians were not to go down without a fight.

Nevertheless, the Protea Team, worked as a unit, unified in purpose, and outmanoeuvred the Mauritians at every  level of the game. Neisha's forces dominated at both tactical and strategic levels, forcing the Mauritians to take losses and preventing them from having any gains.

As Neisha succinctly states, "It's a team game, and every member is vital to the success of the team".

Official Announcement: Postponement of the Esport and Phygital Program Launch in Haiti


It is with great sadness and deep emotion that we announce the postponement of the official launch of the Esport and Phygital Program in Haiti, originally scheduled for November 30, 2024. This decision comes following the tragic passing of Sfreud Wilson, the son of the President of the Haitian Esport Federation (FHE), Freed Wilson.

Sfreud Wilson was not only an athlete but also a passionate advocate for esports, particularly eFootball. His dedication, passion, and energy have left an indelible mark on his family and the entire esports community, especially in Haiti, where he inspired countless young people to pursue their dreams in the digital and sporting world.
The launch of this program, which aimed to impact 20,000 young people across all 10 departments of Haiti, was a significant milestone in the development of esports and digital education in the country. However, in light of this tragic loss affecting the Wilson family and the Haitian esports community, it is necessary to postpone this important event. We are committed to setting a new date as soon as possible and will keep you informed of any updates.
We ask the international esports community, as well as all our partners, to join us in this time of mourning. Sfreud will remain in our hearts and memories as a key figure in the development of esports in Haiti and beyond.
Our thoughts are with the Wilson family during this difficult time. We pay tribute to the memory of Sfreud, a young man whose passion and spirit will live on in our community forever.

Colin Webster, IESF president, to speak at Brazil Esport Forum.

The event will be the first public contact with Dreamhack Rio, on April 17 at the Marriot Copacabana hotel.

Those who follow the Esports scene are well aware that the Rio Esport Forum, an event that happened last year in April, was the real responsibility for Dreamhack Rio being possible this year. It was at this event that Arturo Castelo, Director of Dreamhack Spain, stated that it was possible to do the festival in Rio. On April 17, two days before DreamHack Rio begins, Brazil Esport Forum will have one more edition, but this time on a national level, with the presence of great authorities at the Marriot hotel in Copacabana.

The agenda includes topics such as:
  • "The competitive landscape in Brazil and its challenges", 
  • "Esports in public policy in Brazil", 
  • "The mobile and the future of Esports" and many other. 
The event will last from 9am until 6:30 p.m. The closing topic will be: "Dreamhack and the esports ecosystem in Brazil," which will give a taste of the largest sports festival in the world which will be held between April 19 and 21 at the Olympic Park in Barra da Tijuca.

The Brazil Esport Forum is an excellent opportunity for those who wish to enter the esports market in Brazil. Not to mention that it will be a differential for those who seek to network and want to be alongside great entrepreneurs of the Brazilian game scene.

Who may host a MSSA Provincial Championship?

Esport gamers in action.
It is MSSA's policy to have all its championships rotate among member clubs.

However. some clubs are more able than others by having their own venues.

Nevertheless, every club has a chance to host a Provincial Championship in its venue in which it is situated, or in a venue that it has arranged.

Thus you will find that in Gauteng alone, Wits University, Old Edwardian Wargames Club (based at the Old Edwardian Society), L'Aigle Wargames Club, Northcliff High School, University of Johannesburg, HTS Tuine, SAHETI, Jeppe Quondam, Northcliff Wargames Club, Tuks Mind Sports Club, Jeppe High School for Boys have all hosted Gauteng Provincial Championships.

To host an event, a member club must just apply in writing to MSSA stating that they wish to host, and the event is then allocated.

Of course there are huge advantages to hosting. Some of the advantages are:
  • Gaining increased exposure for the host club,
  • Raising funds for the host club,
  • Gaining new membership, and
  • Contributing to the growth of all of mind sports.

Kaira dominates official HearthStone rankings.

Kaira Gabrielle Pinard (Valhalla) - ranked number 1.
For the first time ever in the history of Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA), a female has reached the position of being the top ranked player in any title.

So it is that Kaira Gabrielle Pinard (Valhalla) has shattered all conventions and and grabbed the number one position.

There is no doubt that Kaira performed exceptionally well at MSSA's 31st SA National Championships (SAN) that were held on 2 & 3 December 2017. It was at such championships that Kaira won each and every game that she played in the HearthStone championships. Such standard of play earned Kaira not only the title of SA National Champion, National Federation Colours, but also the top ranking for such esport.
