Dmitry Smith, President of the Russian eSports Federation, took part in the conference “Sport and Future”, organized by HSE (Higher School of Economics), the International Center for Sports Studies and the FIFA Master Alumni Association with the support of the Football Union of Russia.

The main topics of the conference “Sport and Future” were the current trends in the development of the world sports industry. The event was attended by such eminent speakers as FIFA President Gianni Infantino, CIES President Pierre Cornu, Google Vice President Fabio Coelho, Milan Internazionale Vice President Javier Zanetti and many others.

Dmitry Smith spoke at the “Esports Influence” panel discussion. Esports are increasingly associated with “big sports” and we are very excited about this trend. A lot of work has been done not only in making esports popular, but also in organizing quality competitions, training referees, and carrying out relevant scientific and applied research. Separately, I would like to note the productive interaction with the Football Union of Russia. Thanks to our joint work, Russia became the first country to recognize electronic football as a sports discipline of football. And competitions in electronic football – official championships and cups of Russia are held at the highest level with using the football infrastructure and famous experts and players from the “big football”, said Dmitry Smith in his speech.

MSSA welcomes Legendary Esports into the fold.

Legendary Esports is now affiliated to MSSA.

There is not a month that goes by that Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) does not have new clubs apply for, and be accepted into, membership.

The latest club to affiliate is Legendary Esports.

The club operates out of
ShopB007a, 1066 Burnett Street, Pretoria, South Africa (tel: 012 753 3551) and is run by the dynamic Rily Wong.

The shop is a perfect venue for esports, board games, and wargames.

Athletes wishing to
affiliate to the club are welcome to write to: rily@live.cn
The gaming cafe, from which the club operates, has 60 gaming PCs, and is located just behind University of Pretoria.

MSSA wishes Legendary Esports a long and fruitful association.

A special opportunity.

A special notice apropos fees.
Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) is South Africa's largest membership based organisation in South Africa for gaming.

It is not difficult to see why, as all member clubs have a direct say in the affairs of MSSA. However, to excercise such say, the member club has to be a fully-paid-up member club.

So what happens to new clubs affiliating in October 2018? Do such clubs have to pay their fees twice, once for the 2017/2018 year, and once for the 2018/2019 year?

This may be an issue as new clubs may want to have input to the National Convention to be held on 1 December 2018.

To alleviate this issue, MSSA's Management Board has, as per usual, agreed that new clubs affiliating after 1 October 2018 be allowed to only pay the 2018/2019 affiliation and registration fees and receive the benefits of membership for both years.
The fees for the 2018/2019 gaming year (1 November 2018 to 31 October 2019) are:

Affiliation fees per club per annumR100.00 per annum
Registration fees:Registered with MSSA R107.00 per player
Players who are members of school clubsR6.00 per player

Please note that Registration Fees may be waived by the Management Board should a player have reached the age of majority and is unemployed, or if the player is a minor and his/her parents are unemployed.

Please note that the voting strength that any member has at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in December is based on the paid-up membership of such member at the date of the AGM.
