White Rabbit to contest 37th Gauteng Provincial Championships.

With four out of the five players of the White Rabbit team having earned Protea Colours for the League of Legends esports title, the White Rabbit League of Legends team is undoubtable the strongest League of Legends team in the country.

The team entered for Mind Sports South Africa's (MSSA) consists of the following players:

Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) is proud to annouunce that ZAG Academy is now an official part sponsor of South Africa's National Protea Esports Team that shall attend IESF's 10th World Championships - Kaohsuing City.

IESF Group Draws to be streamed.

IESF's 10th World Championships shall be hosted by CTeSA - Kaohsuing City.

International Esports Federation (IESF) has made the decision to do the Group Draws prior to the teams departing for IESF's 10th World Championships - Kaohsuing City.
This will certainly help teams go in better prepared as the teams will have the time to consider strategies and tactics.

Certainly Mind Sports South Africa's official Protea Esports Team will have a great deal of time on the long flight from South Africa to Chinese Taipei to discuss the group draw at length.

Group Drawing will be held prior to IESF's 10th World Championships on the IESF Twitch channel (www.twitch.tv/iesf_tv).

Details are as follows:

Date: 2^nd of November 2018, Friday (15H00 ~ 17H00 CST)
(22H00 ~ 24H00 South African time).

Road to Kaohsuing City - 10th Esports World Championship Entry Finalised

37 days to go until IESF’s 10^th Esports World Championship - Kaohsuing City.

With only 37 days left on the calendar to IESF’s 10th Esports World Championship, the International Esports Federation (IESF) hereby announces the “Final Entry” for such Esports World Championship. A Total of 42 countries and 427 participants making up the various National Delegations will gather at Kaohsiung city to compete in the 3 official titles, being; League of Legends(LOL), Counter Strike : Global Offensive (CS:GO), and Tekken 7.

South Africa, through Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA), is one of those 42 countries, and the official Protea Esports Team shall be contesting the League of Legends(LOL), Counter Strike : Global Offensive (CS:GO), and Tekken 7 esports titles at IESF’s 10^th Esports World Championships.

IESF’s 10^th Esports World Championship 2018 will be held from 6^th to 13^th in November 2018. The group drawing ceremony will be conducted on November 8^th where each team captain will participate in the draw in which the groups will be determined.

As the largest international esports tournament where athletes represent participating nations, IESF’s 10^th Esports World Championships, with great support from Kaohsiung City and CTESA (Chinese Taipei Esports Association) is confident and ready to host all esports athletes from around the world in the most spectacular event to date.

IESF’s Esports World Championship is hosted annually through the official “Host City Bidding Process” where the bid documents are distributed to all cities willing to host the event.

Road to Kaohsuing: It is amazing!

Currently Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) president, Amanda Pakade, is in Kaohsuing City in Chinese Taipei. Amanda is there as a guest of CTeSA who are showing all the member federations, that have have successfully completed the first entry, the preparations that they have made for IESF's 10th World Championships.

Amanda is absolutely enthusiastic about the preparations. The people, the stadium, the hotel have stunned Amanda, and Amanda is of the conviction that IESF's 10th World Championships will be the best to date.
Through the inspection, Amanda has further isolated areas in which esports has to be developed in South Africa and is determined to have MSSA deliver even more to its Members and Registered Players.

South Africa's first female Counter-Strike: GO team captain.

Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) has just selected Marisa Van Der Westhuizen as the Senior Team Captain for the esports title of Counter-Strike: GO.

Four years ago Marisa took the step from being just a gamer to become an esports athlete and became involved in Counter-Strike: GO. Once introduced to the competitive aspect, Marisa was hooked and dedicated herself to playing, and being trained, in the Counter-Strike: GO (CS:GO) esports title as she then knew this was the sport and industry that she wanted to be involved in for the rest of her life.

Marisa started in an all-female team, but her big break came through in mid-2017 when she moved to a mixed team that was lead by 2016 Protea team captain Jessie Joubert. It was in 2017 that Marisa was selected for the national squad. In 2017, Marisa got her first taste of international competition when she was selected from the squad to be part of the team that played against Switzerland in an official online test match. The experience taught her well, and MSSA is confident that Marisa will do South Africa proud in leading the national team, and performing to the highest international standards.

Marisa is confident that the team will represent the country with pride at IESF's 10th World Championships in Kaohsuing, Chinese Taipei.

The squad has great potential and merges new and youthful athletes with older more experienced veterans which should add a strong foundation to future national teams without compromising on any standards. Without doubt, Marisa is t afraid of breaking pre-conceived ideas and will prove to be a great leader of the national squad and national team.

1st Entry Complete for 10th Esports World Championship

International Esports Federation (IESF) has announced that a total 684 participants from 43 countries have registered for 1^st Entry of the Esports World Championship Kaohsiung 2018.

Of course South Africa, through Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA), has entered.

IESF's 10^th World Championships has the largest participation in the history of the World Championships ever recorded.

42 countries registered for League of Legends (LoL), 41 countries registered for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) and 37 countries have registered for Tekken 7.

The Protea Esports Team has competed in all nine previous World Championships, and thanks to the skill and dedication of MSSA's top athletes, South Africa is currently ranked 12^th in the world.

The final entry will be opened until 31^st of August, where National Federations will be submitting the final national delegation list to IESF Each National Federation will be conducting their national qualifiers(NQ) to select their national teams to represent their country during the respective period.

With fantastic support from the city of Kaohsiung and the local organizing committee (CTeSA, Chinese Taipei Esports Association), IESF's 10^th Esports World Championship will not only be the biggest of all World Championships, but the most spectacular one to date.

The event will not only feature esports in general, but will embrace cultural and social events held jointly during the period.

Logo Released for 10th Esports World Championship

The logo symbolizes the infinite potential of esports.

International Esports Federation (IESF) and Chinese Taipei eSports Association (CTeSA) have announced the logo for the upcoming 10^th Esports World Championship Kaohsiung 2018.

The logo symbolizes the infinite potential of esports and the athletes joining the Esports World Championship, receiving its motif from the symbol of infinity. The colours of the symbol represent two distinctive natures of Kaohsiung city; vibrant sunshine and energetic sea waves. As a unit, it represents the infinite support and development of esports.

IESF and all its member federations will thus be celebrating the 10^th edition of the annual World Championship. It is expected that IESF's 10^th editionof the annual World Championship shall be the largest Esports World Championship in IESF history in both size and scale.

Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) will of course be there with its national esports team. Such team shall be selected at MSSA's National Team Trials (NTT) to be held on 2 & 3 June 2018.

Tekken esports players that have qualified for National Team Trials.

MSSA will select a team to represent South Africa at such event.

Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) has previously participated in all the world championships in which TEKKEN was an official title.

TEKKEN has already been announced to be played at IESF's 10th World Championships - Koahsuing City. As such Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) will select a team to represent South Africa at such event.

It is not, therefore not surprising, that no less than thirty-six (36) players have qualified for MSSA's National Team Trials (NTT) to be held on 2 & 3 June 2018. Among the qualifiers are both Morizane Boyes ans Alasdair Donaldson who have both previously represented South Africa at previous world championships.

However, for those who have not yet qualified, there is one last chance, and that is MSSA's 17th Mpumalanga Championships to be held at HTS Witbank on 26 and 27 May 2018.

All entries for MSSA's National Team Trials (NTT) to be held on 2 & 3 June 2018 must be entered by the club on its Google Drive page.
