Results of SA Schools.

Kyle Vorster (Curro Aurora) demonstrated exceptional skill and sportsmanship.

The weekend of 15 and 16 June 2019 saw Fakkel School of Skills host the official SA Schools Championships. The school proved to be a more than able host as schools descended on the school in order to compete for ultimate bragging rights.

Included in the 'bragging rights', are the National Federation Colours that are awarded to players who win all their games within their division.

Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) was more than happy to award 26 players from 9 schools National Federation Colours. Of such colours, 4 Primary School learners were awarded National Primary School Colours.

Kyle Vorster of Curro Aurora deserves special mention. Although Kyle won two different events, Kyle is only awarded such National Primary School Federation colours once. Nevertheless, it remains an outstanding achievement as he is the only person at such SA School Championships to earn two gold medals at such championship.

Alasdair Donaldson Takes South Africa out of the Group Stages for Tekken

Huge excitement for South Africa as the Protea Tekken player, Alasdair Donaldson, makes it out of the group stages and into the knockout rounds.

Tomorrow Alasdair will take on the Philippines in an attempt to secure his spot in the quarter finals! With all to play for, tomorrow's match is sure to be an exciting display of skill. There's a lot on the line for all the players and we're expecting nothing short of sweat and determination.

Alasdair is well know in the local scene for his dedication to the game and his outright skillful way in which he plays. Tomorrow Alasdair will attempt to make history! Philippines had an amazing group stage result crushing all their opponents and not dropping a single game. They are most definitely a force to be reckoned with! It will be no easy task for the South African, Alasdair, to overcome his foe.

Already making it through the group stages is a huge achievement but Alasdair has no intention of settling with that. It is going to be a fight to the bitter end with the adrenaline rushing and the hearts pounding.

The competition is fierce and the pride is high but with so much at stake you can be sure that there will be no quarter given and every fight will break a sweat! The South Africans are standing behind Alasdair in what can only be classed as a true family in the spirit of everything that is eSports!

Parys High School affiliates.

The growth of esports at school  level continues unabated with the affiliation of  Parys High School (Hoërskool Parys) to Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA).

This now pushes the total number of properly constituted clubs affiliated to MSSA to 79 clubs country-wide.

However, it  is particularly exciting to see Parys High School affiliate.

The 134 year-old school, which is known for having 'heart' truly caters for its learners,  and  can move with the times - as seen by the school  accepting  esports into the fold.

The school has affiliated in time to participate in MSSA's 31st SA National Championships.

MSSA's 31st SA National Championships shall be held at Fakkel School, 20 Jan Smuts Ave., Sasolburg on 2 & 3 December 2017.
