The weekend of 15 and 16 June 2019 saw Fakkel School of Skills host the official SA Schools Championships. The school proved to be a more than able host as schools descended on the school in order to compete for ultimate bragging rights.
Included in the 'bragging rights', are the National Federation Colours that are awarded to players who win all their games within their division.
Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) was more than happy to award 26 players from 9 schools National Federation Colours. Of such colours, 4 Primary School learners were awarded National Primary School Colours.
Kyle Vorster of Curro Aurora deserves special mention. Although Kyle won two different events, Kyle is only awarded such National Primary School Federation colours once. Nevertheless, it remains an outstanding achievement as he is the only person at such SA School Championships to earn two gold medals at such championship.
