Communiqué from the Nigerian eSports Federation (NeSFeD) 28th April 2020.


The Executive Committee of the Nigerian eSports Federation (NeSFeD) Tuesday, 29th April 2020, held a meeting online to discuss important issues as concerns esports in the country. 

The Executive committee meeting which was presided over by the President of the Nigerian eSports Federation, Mr. Agbor Clinton, also had in attendance, some  other members of the board including:  

  • The Secretary General, Mr. Chrysantus Tah, 
  • Director of Competition Mr. Kennedy A,   
  • Head of ICT and Logistic, Mr Gbenga Adetuberu. 
  • International Relations and Communications, Dr. Fineman Guy.  
  • Director Inter Governmental Affairs, Dr Peter Deshi.  
  • The FCT Chairman, Mr. Obinna Elobi and the six zonal coordinators of the Nigerian esports Federation.   

In the 14 points communiqué released after the meeting, it appreciated the efforts of the Federal Government of Nigeria in its  strategies to combat the Covid-19 pandemic in Nigeria . 

The members also commended individuals and organizations like Mr. Mani Robison Foundation, BUA, Anchor FWC and Next Level Vanguard,  just to mention a few,  for supporting and complimenting the efforts of the Federal government through the disbursement of palliatives to the less privileged in the society.  

It also appreciated the efforts of FCDA in the fight against the virus in the nation’s capital Abuja. 
The Committee also aligned with the resolutions of the Board of the Nigerian eSports Federation to continue to shut down all States Association offices till further notice, in compliance with the government directive against covid 19.  

However, it directed the organizing committee and the committee in charge of   international competitions to honor the request from South Africa in friendly matches online as well as inter states online game in esports. 

The body noted that the success achieved within few months in (NeSFeD) was a collective effort from stakeholders in esports who share the same objective and mission with the (NeSFeD). 
It appealed to members to continue to exhibit a strong level of commitment in their day to day activities of esports   saying  such positive engagement and support  from  such individuals  will be the only alternative   for  esports  ecosystem to  thrive in Nigeria. 

 The meeting however condemned in strong them identified and unanimously agreed that nobody or group of individuals can bulldozed its way to the Nigerian esports Federation as members without following the due process of membership. 

The board equally states frantically that it has never turn its back against any person or individual seeking  membership in   (NeSFeD)   

 The communiqué further appealed to the general public with genuine   interest in esports development to   approach the right channel to join  Nigerian eSports Federation as partners in progress. 

The chairmen of FCT eSports Association Mr Obinna  Elobi and its  Lagos state counterpart Mr Happy Etukudoh were both commended for putting up a world class online  friendly games that  produced  qualities players that will represent Nigerian in the international  online friendly against South Africa next week.       

The Board while appraising the International eSports Federation (IESF)   contributions towards eSports promotion and development globally, commended the president and executive board members  for its delegacies in its activities. 

The meeting also endorsed the policies, rules and regulations of the confederation of African esports with the aim to work closely with the continental body to make esports a household name in Africa.    
In conclusion, the board directed the Secretary General of the Nigerian eSports Federation to clear the air and state clearly that sportfanzone.com is only a media partner with the (NeSFeD) and not a subsidiary as early wrongly stated.
