Although the efootball title of PES was only introduced to IESF World Championships in 2019, Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) submitted a team to contest the game title. Needess to say IESF's 11th World Championships was hotly contested, and if South Africa is going to be even more competitive on an international level in this gamae title, more needs to be done at home to further develop the abilities of South Africa's players - at every level.
It should be noted that all MSSA Regional, Provincial, and National Championships, as well as online championships and online leagues count towards selection to the national team.
Being selected to represent South Africa at IESF's World Championships is the highest honour that an esports athlete in South Africa can earn. Such player is awarded the much coveted Protea Colours - the same as in any other sport, and the experience of being thrust among the world's best is of legends.
