Important information for the Namibian and South African Qualifiers for the MONACO SIM RACING WORLD CUP 2022

Both NESA and MSSA  hope all are preparing for this spectacular event and are looking forward to it as much as we all are.

Some important news for all participants:

After much deliberation and several contributing factors, the qualifiers will only be done in time trial mode.

This means there will be no race, only qualification times.

The following are the reasons as to why such has been decided:

  • There are external factors affecting some participants, such as loadshedding which we do not feel is the fault of the drivers.
  • The decision will give more participants the chance to join and participate.
  • There is not enough time to have another race event should the initial block of drivers exceed 20 – if there are more than 20 drivers (1 group) multiple races are needed. Loadshedding this makes it very difficult.
  • With the format changed to qualification through lap times this gives everyone more time to get a better time – in their own time. There will be multiple slots for each group, you can simply enter any/all the slots for your group you wish to drive in. The slots will run over 2 days, giving everyone more than enough time to get a decent shot at a fast lap time, regardless of external factors.
  • If we have races and stream them, we might not be able to cover everyone which is not ideal.

On Monday, 11 July 2022, NESA and MSSA will collect all lap times from all slots. The results will be announced later in the week.

We sincerely hope all drivers understand why we have chosen this method of conducting the qualifiers. For any questions, please feel free to contact us. We wish you all the best of luck.
