This position needs to be filled immediately and the successful candidate will start early next week.

Job Title: AWARDS PR CAMPAIGN MANAGER – 2020 Momentum gsport Awards
Effective Date: Monday, 20 July to Friday 2 September, 2020
Type of Appointment: Short-term contract, supplier to engage as an independent contractor.
Place: Work from Home

The successful candidate owns her own tools of trade and has fast Internet access, has extensive experience in Sports PR, a strong knowledge of women’s sport and an influential media network to tap into, to drive increased media coverage.

Key deliverables:– Draft campaign media releases
– Liaise with media on awards queries
– Secure interviews for finalists and campaign spokespersons

This year, GSPORT is encouraging the gsport community to apply for work opportunities on the #gsport15 campaign as we empower women in sport through job creation.

Job Title: MC – 2020 Momentum gsport Awards
Date: Monday, 24 August, 2020 (TBC)
Venue: Cosmos City, Johannesburg

Job Description:  The 2020 Momentum gsport Awards MC must be a registered member on the gsport community, and have at least five years experience hosting live events.

She must be passionate and knowledgeable about global women’s sport. She must too be punctual and take rehearsals seriously. The applicant must also be comfortable with autocue and is comfortable to ad lib when called on to do so.

2020 MOMENTUM GSPORT AWARDS

The nominations have all been made, and the stage is set.

The list of nominees is quite impressive, and the nominees made by Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) have ttheir work cut out for themselves when competeing against such stellar competition from all sporting codes.

The judges will now determine, from the list of nominated athlethes, the top three finalists.

The list of three finalists, per award citation, shall be announced in August 2020, and it is then that the public will have its chance to have its say.

MSSA wishes all nominees the best of luck.

Calling all women who promote women in esports globally.

Amanda Pakade, MSSA President, is determined to nominate a woman who promotes other women in esports.

In 2013, Mind Sports South Africa's (MSSA) own Morizane Boyes won the Volunteer of the Year at the GSport Awards.

The Awards now has a category for: 

Global Woman in Sport [NEW AWARD]

• This new award seeks to honour a woman, who is impacting sport globally, and going the extra mile to put women’s sport on the map internationally.  

In the interests of continuing to promote esports as an accredited sport, MSSA requests any/or members who have candidates that they wish to propose to advise MSSA before 30 June 2020.

It is at the 2020 Momentum Gsport Awards women in sport are being put first as Momentum and the gsport Trust partner once again to stage the 2020 Momentum gsport Awards. The awards celebrates 15 years of the country’s longest running women’s sport recognition platform.

Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) shall be making nominations, and, in order to ensure that no stone is left unturned, MSSA is appealing to all clubs and Registered Players to submit their suggestions to the Board before 30 June 2020.

It is now time once again for nominations to be made for the 2020 Momentum Gsport Awards.
It is at the 2020 Momentum Gsport Awards women in sport are being put first as Momentum and the gsport Trust partner once again to stage the 2020 Momentum gsport Awards. The awards celebrates 15 years of the country’s longest running women’s sport recognition platform.

The full list of Awards Citations is:

• Momentum Athlete of the Year
  
  A South African sportswoman who has excelled at an international or senior level during the Year under Review (30 June, 2019 to 30 June, 2020)
  

• Athlete with Disability
  
  A South African sportswoman with disability who breaks records and dispels myths about people living with disability.
  

• Emerging Athlete of the Year
  
  An emerging sportswoman over the age of 18, who has excelled at a national and provincial level during the Year under Review. It honours the rising stars to inspire them to sporting greatness.

• School Sports Star
  
  A young girl in sport under the age of 18 who has excelled athletically. She is seen as a role model to the youth and is on her way to greatness. The focus is on personal improvement alongside outstanding achievement during the Year under Review (30 June, 2019 to 30 June, 2020).
  

• Team of the Year
  
  A team of sportswomen of any age, who have excelled as a unit during the Year under Review (30 June 2019 to 30 June, 2020) and represents the ideals of a democratic South Africa in terms of diversity and unity.
  

• Coach of the Year
  
  A coach (any gender) who has made a significant impact on women’s sport during the Year under Review (30 June, 2019 to 30 June, 2020) and is actively involved in growing the careers of South Africa’s leading sportswomen.
  

• Woman of the Year
  
  A formidable woman who contributes significantly to the growth of sport in South Africa and leads the way in breaking boundaries and opening doors for other women.
  

• African Woman in Sport [NEW AWARD]
  
  A formidable woman who contributes significantly to the growth of sport in South Africa and leads the way in breaking boundaries and opening doors for other women.
  

• Global Woman in Sport [NEW AWARD]
  
  This new award seeks to honour a woman, who is impacting sport globally, and going the extra mile to put women’s sport on the map internationally.
  

• Woman in Social Media
  
  A woman who creates powerful online content about SA women in sport and demonstrates a convincing edge using Social Media during the Year under Review.
  

• Woman in Print
  
  A woman in print who is excelling in her environment and using her position to create powerful journalist content about SA women in sport.
  

• Woman in PR and Sponsorship
  
  A woman in the public relations and sponsorship space who works to build the brand and business of women’s sport during the Year under Review.
  

• Woman in Radio
  
  A woman in sport who is using her voice to promote women’s sport content on radio and demonstrates a convincing edge as a radio journalist during the Year under Review.
  

• Woman in TV
  
  A woman who has successfully broken into the male-dominated world of sports TV and also uses her platform to create powerful content about SA women in sport.
  
  

• Style Star
  
  A vibrant South African woman in sport who has become synonymous with a leading sense of style and elegance and serves as an inspiration to all women in sport who aspire to grow and build powerful personal brands.
  

• Volunteer of the Year
  
  Volunteers are the backbone of amateur sport and this long serving individual (any gender) selflessly gives their time and resources to help raise the profile of women’s sport in South Africa.
  

• Supporter of the Year
  
  An individual who goes out of his or her way to fuel the success of our sportswomen by pulling their weight to ensure their favourites get across the line.
  

• Special Recognition
  
  An individual who goes beyond the call of duty, and has made a long and positive impact on SA women in sport.
  

• Sponsor of the Year
  
  A commercial sponsor who has exceeded its competitors in supporting women’s sport during the Year under Review.
