Mxolisi Lukhele (Amplified Rebellion of Vanderbijlpark) has now Gauteng Provincial Colours for 2020. |
In terms of the rules, team games (Counter-Strike: GO, DotA 2, and Paladins) only had to have the majority of the team resident in Gauteng province, whereas, in individual game titles (Clash Royale, HearthStone, PES 2020, Street Fighter V, and Tekken 7) everyone of the participants had to be resident in Gauteng Province.
With eight game titles played at the same time, umpires Johan van Breda and Colin Webster had their work cut out for them to ensure that it was a fair competition for all.
Fortunately the high standard of sportsmanship meant that the championship ran smoothly so that all particiants enjoyed themselves to the full.
To say that the championship was a success would be an understatement. Nineteen players earned the right to wear Gauteng Provincial Colours, and thirty-eight players qualified for National Team Trials.
To earn Gauteng Provincial Colours at such Gauteng Online Provincial Championships, a player and/or team has to win every single round that they play in such championships. Thus, the nineteen players so awarded Gauteng Provincial Colours truly excelled in having such colours awarded.
