Namibians can, and will be, able to compete.

Namibian Electronic Sports Association (NESA) is a loyal member of both International Esports Federation (NESA) and Confederation of African Esports (CAES).

NESA has always been quick to rise to the challenge.

Ever since 2010, when MSSA sent a team to play in the esports titles of Call of Duty and FIFA, a healthy competitive spirit has existed between Namibia and South Africa.

Thus this test match will see NESA's national esports team for the DotA 2 defend itself against South Africa.

There is no doubt that that the Namibian DotA 2 team has more international experience that the South African team.

Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) once again sees its official Protea Esports Team for DotA 2 take on the might of neighbouring Namibia in an action-packed test match.

Namibia beat the Protea Team at IESF's 11th World Championships (Seoul) in 2019, and South Africa has every intention to even the score.

South Africa vs Namibia.

Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) and Namibian Electronic Sports Association (NESA) are both members of International Esports Federation (IESF) and Confederation of African Esports(CAES).

Both IESF and CAES were founded back in 2008 and have impressive pedigrees in terms of promoting esports as a sport and delivering very real benefits to their member National Federations.

With the outbreak of COVID-19 the sports world has been thrown into disarray with many international events having been postponed or cancelled.

Esports has the advantage of still being able to offer its athletes the possibility of continuing in exciting international events in spite of lockdowns and the ever present threat of an enemy that knows no bounds.

Even such online esports events though require extensive production.

Test match between Namibia and South Africa.

Namibian Electronic Sports Association squares up against Mind Sports South Africa.

As the IESF's 2020 World Championships to be held in Eilat, Israel in November later this year comes ever closer, teams are frantically trying to ready themselves for what will be the test of the year and result in world champions being produced in a a number of titles.

DotA 2 has already been selected  as an official title for such world championships.

Through the IESF's online test matches, South Africa is able to test the team against worthy adversaries. The European teams of course, are able to attend many more tournaments than what cash-strapped South Africans can, and thus develop their teams to apparently unassailable heights.

With COVID-19, teams are of course under lockdown, so national team athletes will be playing from their residences. Of course the  games will still be strictly monitored to ensure that fair play is enforced.

Namibia like South Africa, finds itself outside of the mainstream of international competition, but Namibia is fiercely competitive. Namibia never gives quarter and as has always given their best when playing against South Africa in all esports test matches between the two countries. 

There could not be a greater rivalry!

Both nations are thus enthusiastically rushing forward to this clash.

The Test Match will be held on Saturday, 25 April 2020 from 17H00.

Thanks to the governing Sports Body, Minds Sports South Africa (MSSA) and the support given by PartnerMedia, the South African participation in such test matches is becoming a regular occurrence.

With esports being recognised as a fully recognised sport by both SASCOC and the government, gaming is now taken more seriously than ever before. Already gaming has been included into the Asian Games by the Asian Olympic Committee.

Test matches between South Africa and Namibia are always entertaining with a great deal of honour on the line.
