PUBGM 'Team efx' affiliates to MSSA

Sulaimaan Musthan from Queensburgh, Durban has set his eyes to representing South Africa at Bali.

Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) has introduced the PUBG Mobile esports game title into all of its senior Provincial and National Championships in order to enable PUBGM esports athletes to qualify for IESF's World Esports Championships to be held in Bali in December 2022.

Not surprisingly, the teams at the top of such esports game title are clamouring too affiliate in order to win Provincial, National, and Protea Colours, as well as a trip to Bali...

Onee such club to affiliate is 'Team efx' as lead by the charismatic Sulaimaan Musthan from Queensburgh, Durban.

'Team eFx' is without doubt a highly competitive PUBGM team from South Africa and has participated in a number of private events such as the Redbull MEO South Africa, Redbull MEO Global East, Nodwin Umzansi,  PMCO AF Finalists, and Mettlestate.

MSSA President, Colin Webster, stated, "It is wonderful to see a team of this calibre affiliate to MSSA. The team will certainly raise the standard of official South African championships as well as be in the running to officially represent South Africa as members of the South African Protea Esports Team".

There is no doubt that 'Team efx' and MSSA will have a long and fruitful relationship while further developing PUBGM.

SAF. Enforces affiliates...

Ms. Amanda Pakade (MSSA President) is of the opinion that mobile gaming is about to show great growth.

With Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) having committed itself to the long-term development and promotion of mobile gaming, many more clubs are affiliating to MSSA.

MSSA is of the belief and opinion that mobile gaming will become more-and-more popular in the coming months and years.

With MSSA advocating this opinion, the Bredasdorp esports club, SAF.Enforces, under the chairmanship of Charles Black has affiliated to MSSA. 

The club is strongly invested in Call of Duty Mobile (CODM) and sees itself as a contender to the position of national champion.

MSSA is confident that MSSA and SAF.Enforces will have a long and fruitfull relationship.

'Ice Trolls Gaming' has affiliated to MSSA.

With Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) having announced that it shall be hosting Call of Duty Mobile (CODM), a number of clans have taken on more formal organisational structures in order to affiliate to MSSA.

One such club is the Port Elizabeth based Ice Trolls Gaming. Under the chairmansip of Werner Human, the club has every intention of being crowned as the SA National Champions.

The lure of earning Provincial, National, and Protea Colours has seemingly captured the minds of their athletes.

Ms. Amanda Pakade (MSSA President) stated, "Again athletes are seeing the advantages of being a member of MSSA. MSSA welcomes Artic Trolls Gaming into membership and hopes that both will have a long and fruitfull relationship".

Orkney based club 'Bloodline' is accepted into MSSA membership.

Bloodline Society is a club that has started back in 2019 on the 14th of April. The club strives for perfection in gaming and great sportsmanship. Determined to become the best, the club has incalcated a philosophy among its athletes to always give their best to do so. 

Bloodline as a club do esnot believe in toxicity of any sort albeit racial or gender violence, bullying of any kind or any other form of negative behaviour. Bloodline has created this club to become the best, and to help the SA community achieve greatness in the world of gaming. 

The members of Bloodline see themselves as a family, and will always fight for one another. The Bloodline club always impresses on its athletes to portray the best sportsmanship behaviour as possible and be a good example of what a club should be. Ms. Amanda Pakade (Mind Sports South Africa's President) said, "Such a club can only be a credit to both MSSA and esports in South Africa".

Gods of War esport affiliates to MSSA.

 

The Port Elizabeth Gods of War esports club started as a mixed martials arts gym in 2009 and has since grown to be one of the biggest amateur events in the Eastern Cape. Due to COVID-19 the club was forced to shut down and all involved had to rethink what they were doing with their brand and their following. Gods of War has been on the forefront of social media marketing through the company 'Media Fanatics'. With a deep love for online gaming the club has wholeheartedly thown itself into esports in order to bring the same standard and commitment to esports. Gods of War has been instrumental in promoting Call of Duty Mobile as an official accredited sport. Ms. Amanda Pakade (MSSA President) stated upon the Board accepting the club into membership, "MSSA together with Gods of War will see CODM grow from strength-to-strength".

Numinous affiliates to MSSA.

On 14 November 2021 Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) announced that it shall include Activision's esports title Call of Duty Mobile (CODM) into its South African National Championships.

The reaction was phenomonal as team-after-team started constitutionalising themselves and started to affiliate to MSSA.

One such club is Numinous.

The Parow based club is chaired by Farzaana Dawroy and the club is expected to be a heavy-weight in such esports title.

Selecting esports titles to be played in MSSA Provincial and National Championships.

Selecting esports titles is always an emotive issue.

All esports athletes have strong likes and dislikes, gamers always want their favourites to be given preferential treatment.

In order to make the process more objective and reduce the influence of any one member club and/or individual, Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) has a policy in place in order to ensure that there is a due process as well as a fair system in place in order to ensure that the correct titles are selected.

However, it should be noted that MSSA only ever selects 10 titles to be played at Provincial and National Championships. Priority is given to the esports titles that are played at IESF's World Championships in order to assist MSSA deliver a national team.

Even though only 10 titles are so selected, that does not mean that the other titles cannot be held at MSSA events.

Any approved title may be played at an official MSSA Regional Championships. In fact, it is at such Regional Championships that the popularity of various esports titles is tested in order to evaluate whether such titles should, in future, be included in MSSA's Provincial and National Championships.

The full rules on how titles are selected are as follows:

Schedule 3: SELECTION OF TITLES FOR PROVINCIAL AND NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

1. The periods (titles) selected shall be decided upon by the Annual General Meeting.
2. Not more than ten (10) titles shall be selected every year from nominations received.
3. The titles played at the most recent IESF World Championships shall automatically be selected.
4. The remaining titles may then be selected.
5. Should IESF introduce new titles into its World Championships which have not been selected by MSSA, then the least popular game in its genre (excluding titles that are being played at IESF’s World Championships) shall immediately fall away in favour of the new title.
6. The popularity of a period (title) shall be based on attendance at MSSA events.
7. Should IESF introduce new titles into its World Championships which have not been selected by MSSA, and no MSSA event have been held in such period (title) then the Board of Control shall decide which period (title) falls away in such genre (excluding titles that are being played at IESF’s World Championships).
8. Should IESF introduce new titles into its World Championships which have not been selected by MSSA, and there are no other periods (titles) within its genre, then the least popular game (excluding titles that are being played at IESF’s World Championships) shall immediately fall away in favour of the new title.
9. For any period to be nominated, such period (title) shall have been played at any two Regional Events at which there were at least three teams per event.

Colin Webster defends his title once again!

Having won the international Wargames world cup senior title last year, Colin fought for it again at the 2015 Worlds held in Swaziland. After a close game against his former army the Palmyrians and an even closer game against the European Bronze Age, Colin managed to keep his title.

Colin refused to let his hopes slip or let thoughts of defeat enter his head with one bound remaining and still several elements to kill, he managed to successfully crush his enemy in the last bound. Much to the frustration of his opponent this allowed Colin the win the title.

Once again Colin Webster has shown his experience and perseverance. He was gracious in victory and overcame all obstacles to ensure that he won. With the competition breathing down Colin's neck, will Colin be able to keep his title next year in the 2016 International World Cup. Only time will tell...
