St Benedict's College affiliates.

A picture from the college's web-page showing the innate camaraderie at the college.
There is not a month that goes by that Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) does not have new clubs apply for, and be accepted into, membership.

St Benedict’s was often referred to as a small Catholic School in Bedfordview. At 60 years old, the college continues with its record-breaking achievements at all levels.

St Benedict's is proud that its boys are dedicated and constantly give of their best in pursuit of being a “Light in the World” (Matthew 5: 13-16).

‘Veritas in Caritate’ is the schools’ motto which refers to a holistic education with a caring approach that believes in fostering positive and dynamic relationships between the boys who attend the College and the boys and their teachers.

Such affiliation also indicates the changing attitudes towards esports, for even though esports was accepted as a sport in 2005 in South Africa (through MSSA's efforts), huge barriers still had to be overcome as some parents and school governing bodies remained cautious of this new sport.

It is thanks to the progressive schools that are now members that esports has turned the corner and, in my opinion, that the next steps can be taken in getting esports into the Olympics.

MSSA wishes St Benedict's College a long and fruitful association.
