Not only is Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) is the oldest national federation for esports in the world having been founded in 1985, but it arguably, runs more types of events in esports than any othernational federation or private company in the world.
A number of the events, such as, Derby and Regional Championships, are designed to assist member clubs raise funding for their own purposes in developing esports, and mindsports in general.
All official events have an upward path in order to allow the athlete to qualify for National Team Trials, and hopefully, selection to the Protea Team.
Of course these events may be held in each and every discipline, such as Board Games, Esports, and Wargames. This does mean that MSSA has an action packed calendar of events.
The number of events is vital for preparing athletes for international competition.
