MSSA advises of its affiliation and registration fees for the 2021/2022 season.

 

Mind Sports South Africa's Management Board increases all MSSA registration and affiliation fees by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) every year. The CPI applicable to the increases for the 2021/2022 season amount to 3.2%.

Thus registration and affiliation fees for the 2020/2021 season shall increase by the CPI (all sectors) of 4.6%, and as per MSSA's Constitution, all such fees are due and payable on the 1st of November of each year.

Please note that if your club has an SLA for an event after the year-end (31 October 2021), such club must pay its affiliation fees and pay its registration fees for all its committee members by no later than 7 November 2021. Should such club fail to do so, such SLA shall be vitiated.

In order for any player to stand for any office, all such person's fees must be paid at the same time that such person is nominated.

Current Board Members are required to have their club membership fees and their own registration fees paid by 7 November 2021 - failing which, such Board Members are immediately suspended until such fees are paid.

Please note that other members that do not remit payment by 1 February 2022 shall have their affiliation terminated and their members shall not be allowed to participate in Mind Sport South Africa's events or team selection.

Members may only participate in a MSSA meeting if such member is fully-paid-up at the time of such meeting.

The fees for the 2021/2022 gaming year (1 November 2021 to 31 October 2022) are:

Affiliation fees per club per annumR111.00 per annum
Registration fees:Registered with MSSA R118.00 per player
Players who are members of school clubsR10.00 per player

Please note that Registration Fees may be waived by the Management Board should a player have reached the age of majority and is unemployed, or if the player is a minor and his/her parents are unemployed.

Please note that the voting strength that any member has at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in December is based on the paid-up membership of such member at the date of the AGM.

Important notice - change of date - MSSA's 2021 NWU Online School League - 21 July 2021.


Mind Sports South Africa has delayed its MSSA 2021 NWU Online School League to take into account the current COVID-19 regulations. The league shall start on 21 July 2021, Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA). The closing date for entries has now been moved to 20 July 2021.

The entry fee is R50.00 per player. The esports titles to be played are as follows:

In keeping with Mind Sport South Africa's policies re development programmes, entries are free and gratis to registered players who are unable to afford to enter such championships should the member club formally request assistance. Such applications must be directed to the MSSA at: e-mail: mindsportscorrespondence@gmail.com 

Players who are registered with any school may participate.

Players are reminded that the majority choice of rules as at the closing date for entries shall be used.

Entry fees can be deposited directly into Mind Sports South Africa's account, held at ABSA Bank, account number, 90 4766 7676. 

No entries shall be accepted without MSSA having received proof of payment.

Results - MSSA's 2021 Gauteng Online Championships


Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) held its annual Gauteng Online Championships for esports on 29 May 2021.

The championship saw entries from five provinces. and the championship proved itself to e a worthwhile testing ground for all those attempting to gain entry into the National Team Selection process.

There has not been a year that Mind Sports South Africa has not entered a team into IESF's World Championships since the inception of such World Championships in 2009.

The results have entrenched the dominance of seven clubs in esports, and although other long established clubs, like Knights Mind Sports Clubs (established in 1999) and Old Edwardian Mind Sports Club (established in 1989) challenged, and continue to challenge, the domination of the top seven clubs in esports, it is quite apparent that the top clubs are not yet ready to relinquish dominance.

MSSA's annual Gauteng Online Championships also saw the award of provincial colours to sixteen players.
