Jeppe Boys makes a huge impact...

Jeppe Boys' High School's League of Legends team.

With Coronavirus (COVID -19) still holding South Africa in its pestilential grasp, Mind Sport South Africa (MSSA) is still unable to hold its LAN championships for all esports titles. As such the online option will remain the popular option until the member clubs have determined a suitable way forward.

The online provincial championship system ensures that its esports athletes are not compromised in terms of being able to qualify for provincial colours and for possible inclusion in South Africa's National Protea Team to attend International Esports Federation's 12th World Championships in November in Eilat later this year, MSSA created the Online Provincial Championships.

Esports athletes were able to play in the comfort and safety of their own homes and are still capable of competing on provincial, and even, a national level.

In such championships, Jeppe Boys' High School dominated the Counter-Strike: GO and League of Legends events consolidating the school club as the major force in esports in Gauteng, if not the country.

Jeppe Boys readies itself for an exciting year.

There is excitement in the air as Jeppe Boys esports team are in hard training for the 2017 season.

The learners are all excited for MSSA's Schools Online Championships as well as for MSSA's Gauteng Provincial Championships.

Jeppe Boys is one of the more active schools and participate not only in the above two events, but also actively compete in MSSA's ladder events.

Jeppe Boys esports teams are also ranked on both senior and school ranking for the titles in which the school participates.

Jeppe Boys thrashes Sacred Heart in CounterStrike: GO

Team Tesseract (Jeppe Boys)

The most recent result in Mind Sports South Africa's Ladder game in the schools division saw the ever enthusiastic Jeppe Boys team, 'Team Tesseract' take on Sacred Heart's fledgling team.

Team Tesseract is already ranked 17th on the senior CounterStrike: GO ladder, but has yet to be ranked on the school's CounterStrike: GO Ladder.

With Sacred Heart not yet appearing on either esports ladder, both school teams made their debut on the school's CounterStrike: GO Ladder.

The game proved to be fast and furious, with Jeppe not giving any quarter.

The onslaught proved to be to much for Sacred Heart as Jeppe romped home to a 16 : 0 victory.

Even though the schools are now ranked 40th and 41st respectively, they are now both on the ladder and able to challenge teams that are ranked at the most 5 places above themselves.

Thus Jeppe Boys is able to challenge Helpmekaar College, Midstream College, Hoerskool Generaal Hertzog, Fairmont High School, and Maritzburg College for their next game.
