MSSA shall appoint a new Esports Representative.

Prof. Andy Miah with Ryan Boyes at IESF's 7th World Championships - Seoul.
Shortly after the sudden resignation of Morizane Boyes as president of Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA), her husband, Ryan Boyes, who served as MSSA's Esports representative followed suite citing that MSSA "needs someone more active and hands on".

Ryan
's departure from MSSA's Management Board thus means that MSSA needs to co-opt an individual to serve as Esports Representative.

The Esports Representative not only sits on MSSA's Management Board to represent the views and opinions of the esports community, but also is the chairperson of MSSA's Board of Control that is responsible for the day-to-day running of esports as an accredited sport.

Thus MSSA's Management Board  has already begun with preparation to co-opt a registered player to take over this vital role so that none of MSSA's events are affected by Ryan Boyes' unexpected resignation.

The position of Esports Representative is a position that involves an incredible amount of work. Duties for such position include:

  • Helping to select the national teams,
  • Manage the national teams,
  • Ensure that the bye-laws for competitions are up-to-date,
  • Maintain the rankings,
  • Chair the Esports Board of Control, and
  • Ensure the good-governance of esports.

The question is, who will it be?
