It is at such team trials that MSSA shall select the national esports team that will officially represent South Africa at the 2016 IeSF World Championships.
However, there seems to be some confusion as to how players qualify for the trials.
There really shouldn't be any confusion, as the system has been in place since the 1990's and is almost a clear as daylight.
The steps to qualify are:
- The player must be a member of a club affiliated to MSSA, and
- The player has won a Regional Championship, or
- The player has finished in the top 3, or top 20%, whichever is greater at a Provincial or National event, or
- The player is a member of the previous year's Protea Team and is not in breach of contract.
The National Team Trials (NTT) are then held in the province from which the majority of eligible players originate.
NTT is always done as a LAN.
