International
Esports Federation(IESF), the only international membership based
non-profit organization, has just announced one of the official game
titles to be played in the 10th Esports World Championship 2018 to be
held at Kaohsiung City, Chinese Taipei.
Such
official game title is the ever popular Counter-Strike Global
Offensive (CS: GO) as published by the Valve Corporation.
IESF’s
10th Esports World Championships marks the third time that CS:GO has
been selected as an official title for such Esports World
Championships. In 2016 (held in Jakarta, Indonesia), Finland became
IESF’s first winner of the CS:GO game title. However, in 2017 (held
in Busan, Korea), it was Russia that won the 1st place for the CS:GO
game title.
IESF’s
Esports World Championship is the only international esports event
where players compete as representing their countries. IESF has held
its World Championship event annually since 2009.
At both Jakarta and Busan, Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) sent a team, and at both such events, the team played their best and did South Africa proud.
MSSA shall be holding National Team Trials for the Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CS: GO) esports title on 2 and 3 June 2018.
