DF MALAN storms into first place in MSSA Schools CounterStrike: GO rankings

The DF Malan that won the SA Schools eSports Championships

There is no doubt that the future  of any sport depends on the activity  at school level. 

If it is not  played at school,  the sport will wither and die.

It has not been an easy task for MSSA to get eSports into schools, but thanks to some pretty dynamic teachers  and principals, eSports is becoming more-and-more entrenched at school level. As a result a whole lot of new opportunities are being unlocked and offered to learners countrywide. 

However, the title of CounterStrike: GO seems to be dominated by teams from Cape Town with only Northcliff High School (from Johannesburg) offering any real threat.

DF Malan is well known for its gaming standard. In 2013 the school provided the majority of the Protea Team that attended IeSF's 5th world Championships in Bucharest.  The school seems  tto be determined to carry on with its winning ways as the team dominates the school rankings and ladder for the title of CounterStrike: GO.

However, Rondebosch Boys and Parklands College are close on DF Malan's heels as the schools fight to see which school takes the honours for this competition at the end of the year.
According to  the rules for the Ladder, teams are listed in accordance of ranking and may be challenged by teams that are ranked within five places of themselves. New teams enter at the bottom of the table and have to work their way to the top.
It is really quite encouraging to see so many school teams making their way up the table which bodes well for the future of gaming in South Africa.
