How are National Team Managers appointed?

There are few things as treasured as much as officially representing the country in any sport.

It is a topic that always inspires heated debate by members and non-members alike. Almost everybody has an opinion of who should, or should not be, in any national team.

It is not only on the athletes that the public-at-large express an opinion, but even on the managers, coaches, and sometimes even on the technical staff selected by the national federation.

The National Team Manager is the person within MSSA who is responsible to the administration in all matters concerning the national team.

So how is the National Team Manager selected?

The rules for the selecting a National Team Manager to represent Mind Sports South Africa are clearly stated in Clause 40 of the Constitution.

The constitution gives provision for a National Team Manager to be selected from the following should the Gaming Representative be unable or unwilling to act as Manager of such team:

• Any member of the Management Board, or
• Any Registered Player who has held any office for at least three years in an administrative or technical capacity for MSSA, or
• Any Registered Player who has already served as a National Team Manager
