Amanda Pakade speaks on MSSA's commitment to promoting esports in schools.

Amanda Pakade, MSSA's Past President (2018 to 2021), shall be talking to YOUFM's Karabo Mokgaladi about MSSA's commitment to promoting esports in schools.

During Amanda Pakade's presidency. MSSA experienced a huge upsurge in membership among schools.

Remaining on the Board as Hon. Vice-President, Amanda Pakade intends to carry on promoting growth in this important sector.

Non South African teams may play in MSSA championships.

Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) has always honoured its affiliation to the International Organizations to which it is affiliated, being; International Esports Federation (IESF), Federation de Jeau du Mondiale (FMJD), International Wargames Federation (IWF), and Confederation of African Esports (CAES).

Any team and/or athlete not resident in South Africa may enter a MSSA Championship as long as the team and/or athlete are/is registered with their own national federation and such national federation is affiliated to any one of the abovenamed international and/or continental federations.

However, it must be noted that it is the international and/or continental federations that must give permission to enter and must notify MSSA of such entry.

It must be noted that while such non affiliated team may win the championship, such team cannot qualify for South African colours, awards, or selection to South African National Teams.

Nevertheless, such non affiliated team that wins a MSSA championship will always be credited with the win.

MSSA slips to third for administration by IESF.

International Esports Federation (IeSF) has recently sent out their rankings of federations in terms of good governance and administration.

According to such rankings, South Africa's MSSA is now ranked third in the world.

MSSA's President, Amanda Pakade, is satisfied with the ranking. The ranking shows both MSSA's competitiveness within the international community, as well as its ability to deliver at home.

MSSA is competitive in everything that it does. From development of clubs and championships, and its athletes through to the the hosting of events, selection of teams and even its own administration.

Amanda Pakade is hopeful that MSSA will climb back into its number one spot. With IESF now having 56 member national federations, it is harder every year for MSSA to keep its position of pre-eminence.

Of course it does depend on every elected office-bearer doing their part.

Pyromania Esports - fired with passion for developing esports.

Pyromania Esports is based in Cape Town, South Africa and is dedicated to the development of Esports in South Africa as well as the development of players and teams from previously disadvantaged areas. 

Bryan Banfield and Clinton Futter have been involved with Esports since 2006 and have run tournaments around the country. They are both focussing now on building and supporting Esports teams and developing new players are they show interest and aptitude towards Esports.    

Bryan and Clinton are dedicated to using the experience they have gained over the years to help raise Pyromania Esports to level and standard that assists in creating the standard that Esports has the potential to achieve in South Africa.
