TPB focuses on the beat-em-up genre or fighting games and have been training gamers in pursuit of producing international level players. TPB also hosts a variety of disciplines outside the fighting game realm such as 'Magic: The Gathering' and 'Clash Royale'.
The need for a solid fighting game scene is so demanding within the Cape, which is why PlayBell worked with local gamers to bring up a great foundation for beginner players to get involved and understand how to master their game.
PlayBell invites any players from any game space to join in on tournaments which are hosted throughout the Cape.
In March 2017, Team PlayBell hosted its own The Grand Master Challenge for esport titles like Street Fighter V and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 – A massive achievement for the Cape Town community producing over 40 entrants traveling from as far as Worcester and Johannesburg.
The FGC (Fighting Game Community) is rising in Cape Town and now with the release of Tekken 7, we can only see a rise in players, eager to wage battle and compare their skill.
The mission statement for Team PlayBell has always been to develop the players to their best whilst keeping a fun learning environment for newer players.
Team PlayBell hosts weekly sessions for fighting games to make sure players are keeping up with game changes and improving their games.
With Team PlayBell affiliating to Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) is a great step forward for PlayBell and the local FGC.
Team PlayBell hopes to shock an awe the Cape Town scene, and Mind Sports South Africa will provide a broader and more competitive platform for us to do just that. Team PlayBell may be contacted on devilfaction@gmail.com
