However, it was not without a fight.
Unseeded Gordon McCormack (JCS Academy) held Khahlso to a draw. Even though Gordon had not played in an official provincial championship before, Gordon managed to demolish his opponents - except for Khahliso.
Thus, the championship ended with Khahliso Malape and Gordon McCormick sharing first place.
The two players are now ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Their is no doubt that Xola Magwaza is going to have to fend off a challenge from both Khahlisa and Gordon.
