Notes:
·         Registration closes Friday 30th of June 2017 for the Gauteng regional competition.
·         Please make payments per team and not per team member, use your team name as reference for proof of payment.
·         National competition 9th September 2017, at Tshwane University of Technology.
Training
There will be a preparation training camp at Tshwane University of Technology during from 3 to 5 July 2017. This will be a fun event and teams can win prizes during this training.
Minimum 20 teams required to go ahead with training, all age groups and categories.
Teams need their own robot kit and laptop. Teams can rent laptops and robot kits for the duration of the camp.

WRO Robotics Training Camp

When:
3 – 5 July 2017
Where:
Tshwane University of Technology, Theunis Bester hall
Time:
9:00 – 15:00
Purpose:
Preparing our teams to be competition ready.
Format of Camp:
·         Beginners Area – Assistance/Guidance will provided by trainers.
·         Training area
o   Solving robot challenges on the go.
o   There will be 10 - 15 challenge tables.
o   Each table will have 2 to 3 different challenges than other tables.
o   Max 4 teams per table (Each team max 3 members).
o   Teams start with base robot every time.
o   Teams have 45 minutes to add/remove gadgets, program and test.
o   Teams have max two runs to earn point score. Highest score counts.
o   Teams to score as much points during each run.
o   Teams rotate to the next table for next challenge.
Cost
R 320 for all three days per individual member
Who:
Anyone, ages 8 to 19, interested in Robotics, there will be an area for beginners/new comers.
Teams preparing and participating in WRO 2017.
Individuals or groups that wants to join in Robotics challenges.
Equipment
Each team to provide their own Mindstorms EV3 Robotics kit.
Each team to have at least one laptop.
Laptops and EV3 Robotics kits available to rent for duration of camp (R100 per laptop and R100 per EV3 kit).
Rented laptops, EV3 kits will be locked overnight, and not leave the venue.
Reward
All team scores will be placed on a ranking list in their different age groups.
Top three teams on each ranking list will receive awards.
Additional awards:  best improvement team, against all odds, most innovative solution.
Lunches
Lunches can be pre-ordered, R 25.00 for Boerewors Roll, Hamburger or Mince Vetkoek
