Schools may also participate in the Online Provincial Championships.

According to its Calendar of Events, MSSA, the largest member based gaming organisation in South Africa, shall be holding its annual On-line Provincial Championships on 22 April 2017.

The Online Championships is there to afford players an additional opportunity to qualify for MSSA's National Team Trials which are already scheduled to be held on 3 & 4 June 2017.

The Online Championship shall be held on 22 April 2017.

Game titles to be played are:
  • CounterStrike: GO
  • DotA 2
  • League of Legends
  • Street Fighter V
Tournament Structure:

As per the MSSA's rules, being:
  • If less than six teams, the championship shall be a Round Robin Championship
  • If 6 to 10 teams enter the championship there shall be four rounds as played to the Swiss System
  • If 11 or more teams enter the championship there shall be five rounds as played to the Swiss System
Eligibility:
  • Any team consisting of players who are Registered Players affiliated to a MSSA member club may enter.
Entry fee:
  • Entry is free to all full-paid-up Registered Players.
  • Only fully-paid-up Registered Players may participate in this event.
Entry date:
  • Entries need to be submitted on the club's Google Drive page by no later than 17 April 2017.
