MSSA's 2017 On-line Provincial Championships held on 22 April 2017 saw twenty-six clubs battle it out for supremacy in four different game titles. The game titles played were CounterStrike: GO, DotA 2, League of Legends, and Street Fighter V.
Every team that participated earned points for their respective clubs. The points all go to the Club Trophy which is awarded at the end of every year. In turn, the Club Trophy points determine the amount of development funds that are allocated to each club if, and only if, MSSA makes a profit.
MSSA's 2017 On-line Provincial Championships saw VexxedPhoenix romp home to victory, with Hoërskool Wonderboom and Westville Boys High School hot on their heels.
It is most encouraging to see school clubs challenging the established private clubs for dominance.
