"Yenex" in action at MSSA's 6th Limpopo Championships. |
None of the results were as dramatic as those in the League of Legends esports title.
With MSSA's 6th Limpopo Championships being the last of the Provincial Championships for the 2016/2017 season, the results from such championships determine which team is on top of the senior national rankings at MSSA's South African National Championships to be played on 2 & 3 December 2017 to be hosted by Fakkel School in Sasolburg.
In only two championships "Yenex" (HTS Tom Naudé) has surged up the rankings from being unseeded to grab the position of being the number one ranked team in the country.
"Yenex" consists of the following members: Ryno van der Merwe, Anton Cronjé, Aubrey Greyling, Janco van Rensburg, and Chrisjan Bekker.
This is the first time in the history of South African esports that a team based in Polokwane has become the top ranked team.
Yenex's high standard of play further cements MSSA's belief that the future of gaming is in good hands as long as there is continued development at school level.
